Tucker Max

First of all, sorry about the post from yesterday and the songs. I fixed it and put up songs for you to check out. Anyway, I just finished this book called I Hope they Serve Beer in Hell by Tucker Max, a former law school student at Duke University. This is by far the funniest/craziest book I ever read. It is highly controversial, but it is the epitome of many college's students twisted goals in college. I think his excerpt on the back of the book says it all:

My name is Tucker Max and I am an asshole. I get excessively drunk at inappropriate times, disregard social norms, indulge every whim, ignore the consequences of my actions, mock idiots and posers, sleep with more women than is safe or reasonable, and just generally act like a raging dickhead. But, I do contribute to humanity in one very important way: I share my adventures with the world.
I may be a bit behind on this phenomenal book, but I'm not that into books to begin with, so excuse me. Oh, and its well written too.

Randolph-Macon College

Ok, so I have to give it up to the college I currently attend, Randolph-Macon College. My school has about 1,400 students in all, and despite every effort by our school to do away with our #11 party school ranking from last year (Ranking by Princeton Review), we have moved UP, to #6.

To give you an idea of how absurd this is, look at the other schools that make up the top 10:

1. University of Florida
2. University of Mississippi
3. Penn State
4. West Virginia University
5. Ohio University
6. Randolph-Macon College
7. University of Georgia
8. University of Texas
9. University of California - Santa Barbara
10. Florida State University

I know in some ways, I shouldn't be proud, but I can not help that I am.

Thank You and You're Welcome

As some of you may have noticed, my posts during the weekends may be a little weak. I just don't have as much time to spend on my blog as I do during the week. Today I'll just leave you with a little excerpt taken from Kanye West and J. Sakiya Sandifer's book Thank You and You're Welcome

There are some people who try to put themselves into a position just so you'll owe them something. Their entire M.O. is: "I did this for you, now you have to do something for me.

Don't let people think you owe them anything. That puts you in a position of weakness. If they choose to give, it's their choice.

For example, I asked someone to do a part on my album. The artist agreed and said, "I'm not even going to charge you," as if he was doing me a favor, "But, when I'm working on my album, I want you to do a verse for me."

I responded with, "NO! I want to pay you for what I asked you to do and we'll talk about that verse when the time comes. Thank You and You're Welcome!"

Pretty good stuff. Songs:

Stop Talking - Lil Wayne

Get It Get It - Click feat. Chris Brown

Throw it Up - Busta Rhymes feat. Lil Wayne and Ludacris

Request

I was on Kanye's blog today, looking for something to maybe write about it and I came across his latest post, where he calls for everyone to post this man's song on their blogs or websites or whatever, so I did. Not gonna lie but, the beat's a little wack, but the lyrics are unreal, at least in my opinion. Kanye actually says "this may be the illest rhyme of the year." You be the judge. The man's name is Malik Yusef, of G.O.O.D. Music Records.

Draft Day

Today's big day for me as a Miami Heat fan.

There is a lot of speculation surrounding the Heat's #2 overall pick and what they are going to do with it. Every analyst says to take Michael Beasley, but I've been around Pat Riley enough to know that by the way he's acting now he wants to be good NEXT year, and dealing away Michael Beasley would bring in players that could help fill positions of need and allow us to still pick up a solid point guard in the draft like an OJ Mayo or Jerryd Bayless.

By no means am I an OJ Mayo fan, and I have my doubts about his ability to play point guard as a distributor. Bayless intrigues me more as he is more athletic and can D up a little more. Beasley is just too small to play power foward and I'd love him at the 3 but Shawn Marion is there, but I have a feeling that a Wade, Marion, Beasley lineup would not be bad. Hopefully Elton Brand opts out of his last year of his contract and comes to play for us.

I love Pat Riley and what he's doing though. As he as shown before, he can make the Heat a contender in a second (see Tim Hardaway, Jamal Mashburn, and Alonzo Mourning trades; then lookup the Shaq trade and the signings of Antoine Walker and Gary Payton)
As for what I think the Heat should do, trade it to Memphis and get the #5 pick, Mike Miller, and one of their point guards, Mike Conley or Kyle Lowry. If its Lowry, they take Mark Blount also, and we draft Jerryd Bayless.
Miami sports will be back in the picture once again, with geniuses at the controls of every team.
Pat Riley, Bill Parcells, and Larry Beinfest (Marlins GM, gotta admit he knows what the heck he's doign with that payroll)

Songs of the Day: (Unreleased)

I know I got the Game 2 days in a row, and I'm not that big a fan, but he's turning me into a believer, and im pumped for LAX to come out

First Post

---> You'll get why if you read it.

This blog isn't going to be like a journal or anything like that, maybe a few things here and there about what's going on with me, but mostly, i'll just be talking about whatevers on my mind or cool stuff I find out that I want to let known to my readers. Generally I'll end each post with links to new songs (mostly hip-hop) for you to download or listen too. You won't regret listening to them if you're a hip hop fan.

I created this about a week before my actual first post. Problem was that I felt like I had nothing I wanted to get across, and I didn't want to start off forcing posts like a lot of other people do. But this morning I found something worth getting out.

I am a huge Kanye West fan, but I'm not going to go on about why he's so great. Recently there was controversy surrounding his performance at the Bonnaroo music festival since he made everyone wait 2 hours + for him to come out and perform. People booed him and threw stuff on stage. I have a few friends that went to Bonnaroo and were pissed at Kanye for this. Say what you want about Kanye, but the man always gives one hell of a show no matter where he is. I've been to concerts of his in Miami, a small town in Connecticut (forget the name), and Virginia Beach (in that order). All three concerts were no different in terms of his energy and love for being on stage that you could just see as he performed. So hearing this Bonnaroo stuff just didn't seem like him. This morning I went online and checked out Kanye's blog to find his latest post to be about the Bonnaroo incident. I was always skeptical that it wasn't him posting these things, but his latest post has me sold. It reads:

"I am sick of negative people who just sit around trying 2 plot my downfall... Why???? I understand if people don't like me because I like me or if people think tight clothes look gay or people say I run my mouth to much, But this Bonnaroo thing is the worst insult I've ever had in my life. This is the most offended I've ever been... this is the maddest I ever will be. I'm typing so fucking hard I might break my fucking Mac book Air!!!!!!!! Call me any name you want.... arrogant, conceited, narcissistic, racist, metro, fag whatever you can think of.... BUT NEVER SAY I DIDN'T GIVE MY ALL! NEVER SAY I DIDN'T GIVE MY ALL! THIS SHOWS NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY TO BE GOOD AT SOMETHING THERE WILL BE PEOPLE THERE TO LIE ABOUT YOU AND BRING YOU DOWN! LIKE WAYNE SAYS PLEASE DON'T SHOOT ME DOWN CAUSE I'M FLYING! I'M FUCKING HURT BY THIS ONE. ALL I CARE ABOUT ARE THE FANS. JUST SAY THIS OUT LOUD IN A ROOM FULL OF PEOPLE, "KANYE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT GIVING A GOOD PERFORMANCE." CAN ANYONE HONESTLY SAY THAT ????????? HAS ANYONE EVEN TAKEN THE TIME TO AT LEAST DO THE MATH??? BONNAROO SHOULD HAVE RELEASED A STATEMENT IN MY DEFENSE BUT SINCE THEY HAVEN'T LET'S BREAK DOWN THE WALLS ON THIS TRUMAN SHOW AND LET YOU KNOW WHAT REALLY OCCURRED!!! FOR OVER A MONTH WE WENT BACK AND FORTH ON WETHER OR NOT WE COULD EVEN FIT MY STAGE AT THE FESTIVAL. ONE DAY THEY WOULD SAY YES... WE'D SEND THEM OUR SPECS THEN THEY THEY'D SAY OK... THEN THEY WOULD SEND SPECS BACK THAT DIDN'T FIT THE STAGE. WE WERE OBVIOUSLY DEALING WITH FUCKING IDIOTS WHO DIDN'T REALLY HAVE THE CAPACITY TO REALLY PUT ON THIS SHOW PROPERLY. THEY TRIED 2 GIVE ME A TIME SLOT WERE IT WAS STILL LIGHT OUTSIDE ... I HAVE A FUCKING LIGHT SHOW DUMB ASS, IT'S NOT CALLED GLOW IN THE DARK FOR NO REASON SQUID BRAINS! MY PEOPLE WORKED OUT A COMPROMISED STAGE PLOT AND A 3AM TIME SLOT AND I AGREED. FAST FOWARD TO THE DAY OF THE SHOW. MY PRODUCTION MANAGER TRIED TO LOAD IN FOR 24 HOURS BEFORE I WENT ON STAGE BUT THE FESTIVAL WOULDN'T ALLOW US TO DO ANYTHING UNTILL PEARL JAM LEFT THE STAGE. PEARL JAM ENDED ONE HOUR LATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AT THAT POINT WE'RE RACING AGAINST THE SUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AT 4:20AM DON COMES BACK 2 THE BUS AND TELLS ME, " IT WOULD TAKE 45 MORE MINUTES TO PUT ALL YOUR PYRO IN!" I SAY I HAVE TO GET OUT THERE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE . I HIT THE STAGE AND PEOPLE HAD BEEN THROWING SHIT ON THE STAGE AND HAD ACTUALLY HIT THE JANE SCREEN WITH, I GUESS BOTTLES OR SOMETHING AND HAD BROKEN MY FUCKING SCREEN. REMEMBER WHEN YOU WERE A SHORTY AND WATER WOULD HIT THE TV?????? WHEN I GOT 2 "THROUGH THE WIRE" I STEPPED ON THE FRONT PART OF MY STAGE AND THERE WAS SO MUCH LIQUID ON THE STAGE I COULDN'T MOVE WITHOUT SLIPPING. I HAD TO ADJUST MY WHOLE PERFORMANCE STYLE BECAUSE OF IT. A FEW MORE SONGS IN AND THE SONG WAS ON IT'S WAY UP.. I CUT A FEW SONGS FROM THE SET BECAUSE I WANTED PEOPLE 2 EXPERIENCE STRONGER WHILE THERE WAS STILL SOME DARKNESS TO PERFORM IT IN. I'VE STRUGGLED WITH STRONGER FROM IT'S CONCEPTION. REMEMBER LAST SUMMER WHEN I CANCELED SOME TV APPEARANCES. IT WAS BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO PERFORM STRONGER IN THE DAYTIME. ANYONE WHO CAME TO THE GLOW TOUR CAN UNDERSTAND WHY I WANTED PEOPLE TO SEE IT PROPERLY. IT BROKE MY HEART THAT I COULDN'T GIVE THESE FANS STRONGER IN IT'S GREATEST FORM... BY THE TIME I GOT TO STRONGER IT WAS DAYTIME AND IT BROKE MY HEART. I'M SORRY TO EVERYONE THAT I DIDN'T HAVE THE ABILITY 2 GIVE THE PERFORMANCE I WANTED TO. I'M SORRY... SOMETIMES I GO 2, 3 DAYS W/O SLEEP WORKING ON MY PERFORMANCE... I HAVE TO ICE MY KNEES AFTER EVERY SHOW AND THEY HURT WHEN I WALK THROUGH THE AIRPORT... HAVING AN EXPENSIVE STAGE CUTS MY PAYDAY IN HALF... CALL ME WHAT YOU WANT BUT NEVER SAY I DIDN'T GIVE MY ALL!!!"

Another Kanye outburst? haha yeah. but his point is across.

I don't think I have to say much else. This post is too long now anyway. Trust me they won't be from now on.

Tough picking out the first songs for my first post, but I found a couple good ones you def won't regret at least listening too.

The Game ft. Travis Barker - Dope Boys
